RESUMENÂ
Sustainability, as is well known, is a concept now widely used both in scientific discourse and in public debate. What role do emotions play in the process of building sustainability? Is there room for emotions other than fear? And what are the consequences of a sustainable world built on fear?Â
This is a topic that remains little explored but is highly intriguing: emotional sustainability. We will ask ourselves what role emotions might play in shaping an idea of sustainability and, above all, how these emotions might also influence other dimensions of sustainability. The hypothesis guiding us is that emotions not only play an important role but could be a fundamental element in bringing emotional sustainability to life. At the same time, this emotional dimension could enrich sustainability as a whole, but only if culture is acknowledged as having a central role.
